Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Fairway ("we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Fairway iOS app, currently in beta.

1. Who we are

Fairway is a private fantasy golf app for league play. The app is operated by Kyle Seramur as a personal project. Contact: fairwayfantasyapp@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

When you use Fairway, we collect:

• Account data: email address, display name, username, optional avatar image
• Authentication credentials: stored via Supabase (passwords are hashed; we never see them in plain text)
• Gameplay data: which league(s) you're in, your draft picks, your wildcard picks, your tournament scores, your chat messages, your reactions
• Device data: an Expo push notification token (only if you enable push), iOS version, device model
• Crash reports: if the app crashes, we receive a stack trace via Sentry to help us fix bugs. Crash reports do not contain your password or personal messages.
• Public PGA tournament data: we read scores, fields, and golfer info from public PGA Tour and ESPN data. No personal data leaves the app to those sources.

We do not collect: your location, your contacts, your photos, your microphone, or any data not directly related to operating the app.

3. Why we collect it

• To let you sign in and identify you to your league
• To track your picks and compute scores
• To deliver push notifications about your draft, tournaments, and league activity (when you enable them)
• To diagnose and fix crashes

4. Who we share it with

We use these third-party services strictly to operate the app:

• Supabase (database, authentication, file storage, realtime updates)
• Apple Push Notification Service (delivery of push notifications when enabled)
• Sentry (anonymized crash reporting)
• Expo (mobile app delivery and over-the-air updates)
• ESPN and PGA Tour (we read public tournament data; we do not send them anything about you)

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose outside the operation of the app.

5. How long we keep it

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete Account in the app), we permanently anonymize your personal information within 30 days. Some historical gameplay data (e.g., draft picks, scores) is retained as part of league records but is no longer linked to your name or email.

6. Your rights

• Access your data by viewing your profile and roster in the app
• Update your data in Settings
• Delete your account in Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your access and anonymizes your personal information.
• Disable push notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications → Fairway

7. Children

Fairway is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security: HTTPS for all traffic, hashed passwords, role-level access policies on the database, and limited internal access to credentials. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify users of any data breach as required by law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
